CGP > Introduction

The complete hotel project service

The Chris Garrod Partnership started in 1979 when the company was contracted by a major hotel group to provide a 'back of house' package comprising everything from kitchen utensils to linen, china, glass and silver. The philosophy was to go only to manufacturing sources producing a large number of purchase orders. When the various suppliers delivered, the goods would be categorised and sent out in sealed containers to site where a member of our team would be waiting to unload and distribute. The successful completion of this job led to many others and expanded our scope into providing full FF&E packages.

CGP is working on several projects and have a dedicated team of including buyers, accountants, installers, project supervisors and managers. This basic team is supported by site teams who although often employed locally, would be controlled by a supervisor from London. We also have a multilingual staff who are fluent in German, French, Italian and Spanish. Our policy and method of operation recognises that it is extremely important for a hotel project to ensure that the furniture and equipment purchased are of sufficient quality and durability to stand the rigours of long term operation. It is equally important however, to obtain these items at the best price possible to ensure that the owners of the property are getting real investment in the goods bought and true value for money. The Chris Garrod Partnership has a particular knack in being able to buy the top quality goods for the hotel operator at the price the owners want to pay. The point is that CGP is in a strong position to secure the BEST POSSIBLE PRICES.

To carry out our work, all project meetings and negotiations are attended by a senior manager, presenting to the client our recommendations for the issue of purchase orders. A core executive team covering the specialist activities of procurement, freight and accounting supports the operation of the project. When our work is on a fee basis, orders are drafted under the ownership name, for client signature. THIS GIVES TOTAL SECURITY OF FUNDS EXPENDED.

Under the fee system CGP acts as consultant with the owner as principle and the costs are clearly set out at the very beginning with the commitment to purchase at the best prices. The client retains complete control over the cash flow and finances as purchase orders are issued in the Principal's name. The client has the security of knowing that the goods had been bought properly at the best price as CGP always writes a clause into the agreements to the effect that payments or commissions are never accepted from and if offered are to be deducted in the form of a direct discount form the Principal's purchase order. CGP can either hold a client's funds in a trust to make payments and present monthly drawdown schedules or if preferred, the client can pay suppliers direct and CGP will ensure the correctness of the invoices and documentation. Either way, the worry and expense is taken away.

'Turnkey' contracts by CGP carry with them the additional benefit of a guaranteed cost at completion.
